Qualifications

• Minimum of one-year strong guest service skills (internal/external)
• High School Graduate /GED or equivalent experience
• Strong communicator and listener to guests and associates
• Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Strong interpersonal skills (friendly, caring, patient)
• Sales skills
• Knowledge of store merchandise
• Familiarity with cash register, computers and calculators

Responsibilities

• Greets guests without delay when they enter the store
• Explains how to shop at Target Optical and describes paperwork, tests, products and services
• Reviews prescriptions and patient information carefully
• Identifies special needs and consults with Opticians or Doctor as needed
• Maintains accurate records and operates the POS system when required
• Keeps displays clean, attractive and organized
• Performs pre-examination testing with accuracy and explains measurements to patients
• Provides guidance on contact lens care and handling
• Supports the Optometrist with clinical tasks as needed
