Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Scheduling Scheduler for Medical Imaging in a fast-paced environment. You will schedule exams, verify patient data, and coordinate with physicians and radiology staff to ensure accurate, timely appointments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service or medical scheduling.
• Strong customer service, communication and organizational skills.
• Basic insurance and pre-certification knowledge; proficient data entry.
• Ability to type accurately and use scheduling software and EMR.
• Good command of English, with reliable attendance and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Schedule Medical Imaging appointments via inbound/outbound calls and in person.
• Know all imaging exams, patient preps, instructions, and procedures.
• Coordinate with physicians' offices and radiology teams for proper scheduling.
• Assist with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding for Medicare medical necessity as needed.
• Verify eligibility and complete scheduling questionnaires; ensure data accuracy.
• Handle high call volumes with proper etiquette and scripting.
• Maintain knowledge of insurance pre‑authorization, referrals, and timelines.
• Promote teamwork, attend trainings, and comply with policies.
