Job summary

MultiCare Health System in Tacoma, WA seeks a Medical Receptionist to be the first in-person contact for patients. You will greet patients, answer calls, schedule appointments, register patients and handle basic front-office tasks with professionalism.

This role requires excellent customer service, discretion and a pleasant phone voice. One year of clerical or medical office experience is preferred; a related certificate may substitute.

Qualifications

• Post high school office procedures preferred.
• Minimum one year of clerical and/or receptionist experience; or six months in a medical setting.
• Customer service experience.
• Degree or relevant Certificate (e.g., Medical Office Assistant, Medical Assistant, Health Unit Coordinator) may be substituted for experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and direct them to appropriate staff.
• Answer phones, direct calls and assist patients/families.
• Schedule appointments, registration, charge entry and payment posting.
• Balance batches and reconcile cash as needed.
• Operate standard office equipment and maintain front desk organization.
