Job summary

The Medical Assistant role at Pediatrix in Melbourne, FL supports physicians and clinical staff by performing both clinical and administrative duties tailored to the practice. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, compassionate, and committed to patient-centered care.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, taking histories, preparing exam rooms, assisting with exams, collecting specimens and injections where allowed, and coordinating scheduling with the care team.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Medical Assisting is required.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by State regulation.
• Experience in a healthcare setting is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms and collect medical history.
• Assist with patient flow to ensure timely visits.
• Support patient experience with excellent communication and service.
• Assist physicians and APPs during exams and procedures under supervision.
• Collect and prepare specimens, administer injections where allowed by state.
• Communicate instructions to patients and ensure understanding.
• Coordinate scheduling of tests, treatments, and referrals.
