Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinical staff, performing both clinical and administrative duties focused on patient care. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered service.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, assisting with exams and procedures, collecting specimens, and coordinating referrals and tests while maintaining a safe, organized workflow.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Certification as Medical Assistant preferred or as state requires.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred for handling emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms and document medical history and current medications.
• Assist with patient flow to ensure timely visits.
• Support high-quality patient experience with strong communication to patients, families and care providers.
• Prepare and assist physician/APP with exams and procedures under supervision.
• Collect specimens, administer injections/immunizations, and perform venipuncture as allowed by state regs.
• Communicate test results and instructions to patients as directed.
• Schedule tests, treatments and follow-ups; triage calls and referrals.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and sterilize equipment as required.
