Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinical staff in delivering patient-centered care. You will greet patients, collect medical history, assist during exams, perform procedures, and help manage scheduling and follow-up care.

The ideal candidate has a Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program, CPR/BLS certification preferred, and strong attention to detail. State-specific requirements may apply.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• Certification as Medical Assistant preferred or as required by state.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patient to exam room, collect medical history, current medications, allergies, and chief complaints; document in medical record.
• Assist with patient flow to ensure timely visits.
• Support high-quality patient experience through excellent customer service and communication with patients, families and care providers.
• Prepare and conduct medical exams and procedures under supervision of physician/APP.
• Perform applicable medical procedures, collect/prepare lab specimens, administer injections/immunizations, and venipuncture as allowed by state regulations.
• Communicate information and instructions to patients as directed and ensure understanding.
• Assist with scheduling tests, treatments, and follow-ups; communicate test results to patients.
• Ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked; maintain instruments and sterilization.
• Respond to calls/requests for referrals; triage and process messages from patients and staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
