Banner Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians and nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care in Mesa, AZ. You will assist with exams, prepare patients, manage documentation, and support billing processes in a fast-paced clinic setting.

The role requires completion of an approved MA training program, active MA certification, BLS, and strong computer skills. You will work under provider supervision in a team-focused environment that values prevention and wellness.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification is required. Certification must meet Meaningful use requirements.
• BLS certification is required.
• Strong computer skills, including EMR and scheduling software.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs and chief complaint; reports changes to the clinician.
• Assists providers with exams and minor in-office procedures; may perform phlebotomies and EKGs; acts as chaperone as needed.
• Coordinates patient care including pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions and scheduling; communicates test results to patient.
• Provides clerical support and maintains medical records; ensures timely billing information.
• Maintains a clean, functional environment; adheres to sterilization, PPE, and safety guidelines.
• Orders supplies and manages medications, recalls and related tasks.
• Develops effective communication with internal and external customers; demonstrates service orientation.
