Job summary

Spectrum Vision Partners / OCLI Vision is seeking a friendly Medical Receptionist to join our front desk in a fast-paced ophthalmology setting. You will welcome patients, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and handle registrations and payments.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of customer service experience, familiarity with EMR systems (NextGen preferred), and proficiency in Outlook and Excel. Saturday availability may be required depending on location.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience required; medical reception experience preferred.
• Experience with patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, and basic medical billing preferred.
• Familiarity with EMR systems (NextGen preferred) and insurance verification platforms such as Clearwave.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel, including professional email communication.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients, check-in/check-out, answer calls, and provide strong customer service.
• Schedule, cancel, and modify appointments while coordinating provider schedules.
• Obtain and verify referral information, insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility using verification platforms.
• Maintain accurate patient records and obtain required documentation and signatures.
• Collect copays, deductibles, and other balances; explain statements and financial responsibilities.
• Explain office policies, referral requirements, and payment expectations to patients.
• Coordinate with clinical teams and other locations to support patient flow and continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate patient information and use EMR systems for documentation.
