Job summary

Salina-Regional-Health-Center is seeking a detail-oriented Clerk for the Patient Financial Services department to handle inquiries and/or complaints about patient accounts. You will explain account status, set up payment arrangements, mail itemized bills, and rebill insurance companies.

This role also processes financial assistance applications, handles returned mail, and may advise on collection activity. Cashiering and cash posting duties are part of the position, with a standard full-time day

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year insurance billing and/or customer service experience.
• Knowledge of patient accounts and billing processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle inquiries and/or complaints about patient accounts.
• Explain current status of patient accounts to patients.
• Set up payment arrangements with patients.
• Mail itemized bills and rebill insurance as needed.
• Process financial assistance applications and returned mail.
• Recommend appropriate collection activity as needed.
• Perform cashiering and cash posting duties.
