Job summary

Carle Health in Urbana, IL seeks a Registration Specialist to support accurate patient intake, eligibility verification, and financial discussions at the point of care. The role requires obtaining signatures, explaining notices and benefits, and guiding patients through payment options and Carle's Financial Assistance Program.

You will manage charts and ensure timely, clear communication with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Accurately explains and completes registration and admitting forms.
• Obtains signatures from patients and policyholders.
• Explains and gets patient signatures for Consents, Assignment of Benefits, ABN's and Notice of Non Coverage forms.
• Communicates information clearly, concisely, actively, and in a timely manner.
• Completes Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) forms per Medicare laws and follows up as needed.
• Interprets insurance coverage and benefits for patients.
• Identifies patients with potential financial hardship or without third-party coverage and works toward resolution.
• Provides information about Carle's Financial Assistance Program or payment arrangements.
• Verifies and updates patient demographics, insurance and co-pays, and primary physicians.
• Performs chart management duties and handles chart retrieval and creation for new patients.
• Verifies insurance eligibility using Nebo reports when possible and understands Nebo terms.
