Job summary

Air Methods is seeking a Patient Relations Specialist to manage patient collections and explain coverage options, ensuring reimbursement from patients or responsible parties. You will review accounts for uninsured or remaining patient liability and assist patients in understanding their insurance coverage and potential financial CARE programs.

The role requires strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills, with bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 3–4 years related experience or equivalent.
• 4–5 years’ experience in healthcare billing/collections; preferred.
• Knowledge of Government, Commercial and Private payers; required.

Responsibilities

• Handle patient/guarantor calls and coordinate with departments.
• Review and resolve accounts with uninsured or remaining patient liability; explain coverage and payment options.
• Document communications with patients or responsible parties; perform skip tracing to contact success.
• Work cross-functionally across departments and assist in trainings.
• Additional duties as assigned.
