Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum level of education: completion of High School.
• Formal training includes basic arithmetic, rate, ratio, percent calculations and ability to interpret data.
• Certification with Hometown Health required within 90 days of start date.
• At least 12 months of experience in customer service, patient registration, and/or collections preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients for service and obtain/verify demographic and insurance data.
• Input and transcribe accurate patient information with minimal errors.
• Discuss financing options and collect applicable estimated liability from patients.
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain payments or arrangements for services rendered.
• Communicate with medical staff and other departments while maintaining confidentiality.
• Handle cashier responsibilities and maintain cash receipts accurately.
• Navigate hospital systems to retrieve patient financial responsibility and provide cost estimates.
