Job summary

Silver Hill Hospital is seeking a Patient Registration Specialist to manage financial clearance for admitting patients into the appropriate program. The role involves verifying insurance coverage, calculating out-of-pocket costs, and coordinating with the Registration Supervisor to ensure accurate information is conveyed to patients and clients.

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or equivalent, with a preference for a Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of patient accounts experience

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to the role is preferred
• 4+ years of professional-level work in patient accounts is preferred
• Previous experience in a mental health or medical setting is preferred
• SalesForce and Eclipsys experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Contacts insurance companies to verify coverage and calculates patient’s out-of-pocket costs.
• Handles financial clearance for outpatient services.
• Works with the Registration Supervisor to relay accurate information to the client.
• Ensures patient financial paperwork is accurate and signed upon new admission.
• Performs collection duties to ensure prompt payment from self-pay guarantors per policies and procedures.
