Job summary

Savista is hiring an Eligibility Specialist I at Centinela Hospital Medical Center in Inglewood, CA. The role supports patients navigating financial assistance programs and accessing essential care. The schedule runs Wednesday through Sunday, with flexibility to meet business needs, at a pay of $25/hr.

You will guide patients through Medicaid, Medicare, disability, and hospital charity programs, meeting patients where they are and explaining options with empathy to help them move forward.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish is expected.
• 1+ years of experience in a customer-facing role preferred.
• Familiarity with Medicaid/Medicare and Social Security Disability is a plus.
• Ability to navigate multiple software systems with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Serve as patient advocate, meeting patients in person to assess eligibility.
• Engage patients by phone to complete screenings and documentation.
• Guide patients through Medicaid, Medicare, disability, and charity applications.
• Collaborate across teams to resolve eligibility issues and secure coverage.
• Manage high caseload with deadlines while maintaining KPIs.
• Explain financial responsibilities clearly with empathy.
• Maintain confidential HIPAA-compliant records and use multiple systems.
• Support operational needs, including coverage at nearby locations.
• Complete special projects as assigned.
