The Financial Counselor helps patients understand sliding fee scales, complete re-screens, and maintain accurate records, while upholding HIPAA and confidentiality in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and basic computer systems.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Screen patients for insurance coverage and verify income eligibility.
• Complete financial re-screens and update demographics and pay categories in the system.
• Review uninsured patients and establish appropriate payment plans and expiration dates.
• Obtain insurance authorizations and coordinate with registration staff.
• Provide patients with required financial documentation and correspondence.
• Ensure sliding fee scale patients complete required acknowledgements.
• Recall patients for required screenings based on pay plan guidelines.
• Participate in team meetings and support TFHC’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
