The role integrates these functions with payment arrangements and cash collection to help achieve optimal reimbursement. The candidate will have strong interviewing and customer service skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and experience with hospital billing systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in hospital or physician billing and third party verification.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding (ICD-9/CPT-4).
• Experience with computer-based billing systems and typing 30 wpm.

Responsibilities

• Integrates registration, benefit verification and payor pre-authorization with payment arrangements.
• Facilitates cash collection for services rendered.
• Meets patients to review payment and collection guidelines.
• Works with outside agencies to obtain payment for uncovered services.
• Resolves patient billing issues in a timely manner.
• Demonstrates competency with Signature and/or Invision Systems.
