Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
• Compassion and professionalism when discussing sensitive information.
• Ability to explain complex information in clear language.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple systems.

Responsibilities

• Travel between hospital floors to meet with patients in their rooms and assess financial needs.
• Screen for eligibility for Medicaid, Marketplace coverage, hospital financial assistance, and other programs.
• Assist patients with applications and required documents.
• Explain coverage options, steps, and next steps clearly.
• Discuss patient responsibility and payment options in a respectful, patient-centered manner.
• Track application status and follow up on missing information.
• Protect patient privacy and collaborate with clinical and revenue cycle teams.
• Balance compassionate service with accuracy and productivity in a fast-paced setting.
