Job summary

UW Medicine IECS is seeking a Patient Financial Counselor - Front Desk Patient Support for Harborview Medical Center. This 40% FTE, onsite role supports patient advocacy, schedules counseling with funding options, and aligns with hospital financial services and patient relations goals.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients and determine appropriate financial assistance opportunities.
• Manage all aspects of UW Medicine’s Financial Assistance front-desk processes.
• Appropriately access patient’s needs and potential funding.
• Document the progress of each case in Epic notes.
• Act as a liaison to the billing department.
• Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of patient privacy rights.
• Accesses and uses the minimum necessary patient identifiable information to perform job responsibilities and duties for authorized purposes only.
