Job summary

PAM Health Specialty and Rehabilitation Hospital of Covington is seeking a Financial Counselor to assist patients and third-party payers with eligibility and authorization of services. You will act as the financial case manager for inpatient patients, providing cost estimates before admission and guiding payment options.

The role requires a high school diploma, crisis management certification, and at least three years of admissions or collections experience in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of admissions and/or collections experience in a hospital setting.
• Experience in billing, accounting or related field.
• Psych experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Counsel patients and third-party payers to confirm eligibility and authorization of services.
• Identify alternate financial sources and facilitate approvals.
• Respond to patient account inquiries and act as the financial case manager for inpatients.
• Provide cost estimates prior to admission and advise on paying for services.
• Serve as liaison between hospital and patient and collect payments.
