Job summary

Uintah Basin Medical Center in Roosevelt, UT is seeking a detail-oriented accounts receivable specialist to resolve self-pay accounts and maintain strong relations with patients and guarantors under the supervision of the PFS Director.

This role uses medical billing knowledge and outstanding customer service to collect payments, explain charges, set up payment plans, and guide patients to financial resources while ensuring compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• Experience with self-pay collections and patient accounting.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic insurance billing practices and UBH policies.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency in the following areas: handles all communication with patients and other departments within the business office.
• Receives, documents, and responds to all patient correspondence in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Provides exceptional customer service that aims to improve patient and guarantor relations.
• Explain service charges to customers and resolve errors in the Uintah Basin Healthcare computer system.
• Negotiate payment plans in accordance with UBH collection policy and Health First Financial.
