Astera Health is seeking a Patient Financial Advocate to guide patients through self-pay accounts receivable resolution while upholding financial integrity. The role is full-time, with hours Monday–Friday, typically 8:30 am–5:00 pm, and offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life, and retirement.

Responsibilities include assessing eligibility for financial assistance and coordinating with clinic operations.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in customer service or billing preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy compliance.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to arrange payment methods and determine eligibility for Uncompensated Care and other financial assistance.
• Act as liaison between patient financial services and clinic operations to resolve billing inquiries.
• Communicate with departments for problem resolution and documentation.
• Assist walk-in customers from clinical areas and cashier office.
• Cross-cover in areas as requested by supervisor and implement new ideas.
• Assist patients with billing and payment questions.
• Evaluate ability to pay using information from patient, credit files, or hospital account records.
• Consult patients prior to procedures to discuss estimated pricing.
• Assist in collection of pre-payments and current balances due.

As a Patient Financial Advocate, you will have the privilege of guiding patients through the self-pay accounts receivable resolution, while ensuring the financial integrity of Astera Health.This position is full-time: 80 hours per pay period, Monday - Friday with hours primarily between 8:30a - 5:00p.
