Job summary

Med-Metrix in Lansdale, PA, seeks a Patient Advocate to help uninsured and underinsured patients access financial assistance via state programs, hospital aid, and federal benefits like SSI/SSDI. You will complete applications, gather documents, and coordinate with government agencies to ensure patients receive needed support.

Schedule: Mon–Fri 8:30 AM–5:00 PM with 1 Saturday per month. On-site role requiring reliable transportation and willingness to work at multiple client sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; healthcare-related degree preferred.
• 2–3 years of customer service experience preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish (spoken and written) a plus.
• Ability to work at various client sites as needed.
• Must have reliable transportation for on-site attendance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and investigative skills; sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with applications for Medical Assistance, hospital charity care, and SSI/SSDI.
• Interview patients at the bedside and in the Emergency Room to assess eligibility and gather information.
• Identify eligibility and collect required documentation.
• Submit and track applications with local assistance offices.
• Provide support for Marketplace insurance when applicable.
• Maintain accurate records and meet productivity goals.
• Verify and update insurances.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Protect PHI in accordance with HIPAA standards.
• Follow Information Security and HIPAA policies at all times.
