Oceans Healthcare in Amarillo, TX seeks a Financial Counselor to advise patients on medical bills, coordinate with insurers, and help manage balances in accordance with contracts and regulations.

You will review insurance benefits with new admissions, enter data in the accounting system, and support payment discussions while maintaining confidentiality.

The role requires customer service experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office, teamwork, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is the minimum requirement.
• Previous customer service experience in a similar field, including call center work, is beneficial.

Responsabilités

• Enters patient demographic and financial information in the patient accounting system for inpatient and IOP admissions.
• Ensures completed admission yields required documents and labels.
• Ensures proper documentation for billing compliance – intake assessment and physician order.
• Reconciles census to ensure accuracy in patient accounting system.
• Meets with new admissions to review insurance benefits and financial obligations.
• Updates patient accounting system with revised demographic or financial information.
• Initiates point of care collections with patients.
• Coordinates non-covered day discussions with Utilization Management and patients, scans forms into the system and notifies Financial Intake.
