Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, TX is seeking a part-time Financial Counselor for Days to manage admissions/registrations and initial patient financial arrangements, supporting a culture of service excellence.

You will handle pre-registration to dismissal processes, collect demographic and financial information, explain payment obligations, and assist with financial aid applications, contributing to efficient patient flow and departmental budgeting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• Minimum one year of job-related experience recommended
• Experience in customer interactions preferred
• Attention to detail and ability to concentrate
• Typing skills required
• Computer experience desirable

Responsibilities

• Accept assignments with teamwork and clear communication to support department operations
• Obtain demographic and financial information from patients from pre-registration through dismissal, including explaining and collecting payments and applying for financial assistance
• Cross-train to other duties as assigned and accept additional responsibilities
• Impact the department budget through own responsibilities and performance
