Job summary

Endeavor Health in Evanston, IL is seeking a Financial Counselor to work with patients to resolve account issues, develop payment plans, and secure payments. You will screen for payer requirements and explain financial options to patients and families.

Reporting to the Manager of PFS, you will research cost estimates, assist with financial assistance applications, and ensure accurate data entry in hospital systems while adhering to HIPAA and CMS guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in billing/collections in healthcare.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to navigate multiple software systems securely.
• Detail-oriented with analytical problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Collect and review demographic, insurance, and clinical data to expedite payments.
• Develop payment plans and secure payments from patients.
• Prepare written estimates for services.
• Explain policies and assist with financial assistance applications.
• Follow HIPAA and payer regulations in billing and registration.
