Qualifications

• Associates Degree or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working with customers in billing and collections in a healthcare environment.
• Ability to navigate multiple computer systems with accuracy and security.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with patients, families, physicians, and staff to collect demographic, insurance, financial, and clinical data for payment processing.
• Review inpatient and outpatient self-pay accounts to determine applicable deductibles and required payments.
• Enter and update information in hospital systems and logs accurately.
• Prepare written estimates for services in coordination with care teams.
• Assist patients with financial assistance applications and review supporting documents.
• Negotiate and secure initial co-payments; explain policies and establish payment plans within guidelines.
