Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Financial Advocate to join the 13521 Enterprise Revenue Cycle - Eligibility team. This full-time role offers a 40-hour work week with a M-F schedule and pays $22.90–$34.35 per hour, reflecting experience and responsibilities.

You will estimate patient financial responsibility, explain deductibles and copays, coordinate with insurers, and assist with Medicaid/charity programs while ensuring HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED/HSED required.
• 2 years of experience in Patient Access, health care, insurance, or customer service.

Responsibilities

• Calculates and provides patients with personalized estimates of their financial responsibility prior to service.
• Explains deductibles, coinsurance, copayments and how non-covered/out-of-network services affect costs.
• Requests upfront payment toward self-pay amounts and sets up payment arrangements.
• Interviews uninsured patients to identify financial assistance programs and helps complete applications.
• Assists with Medicaid applications and collaborates with social workers/eligibility vendors.
• Stays current on regulations for Medicare/Medicaid and HIPAA compliance.
• Educates providers and patients on Financial Assistance policies and relevant processes.
