UPMC Presbyterian Hospital is seeking a Part-Time Patient & Family Concierge (PFC) in the Transplant ICU. You will support patients, families, and staff with bedside, stocking, and administrative tasks to enhance the patient experience from arrival to discharge.

Position details include 24 hours per week on 2 x 12-hour shifts (9am-9pm), with weekend and holiday availability. Starting pay is $19.00 per hour; title and rate determined by experience and education.

Formación

• High school diploma or active enrollment in HS/GED, or one year of work experience in lieu of diploma/GED.
• Demonstrated compassion, enthusiasm, and desire to provide an exceptional patient/family experience.
• Healthcare or customer service experience is helpful but not required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

As a PFC, you’ll support patients, families, and clinical staff by performing a mix of bedside, stocking, and administrative tasks. You’ll assist with everything from guiding visitors and delivering meals to transporting patients and managing supplies—ensuring smooth, compassionate care every step of the way.

This role offers 24 hours per week, 2 12 hour shifts, 9am-9pm, requiring availability on weekends and holidays. The starting pay is $19.00 per hour, with the final title and rate determined by experience and education.

Key Responsibilities

Note: This role does NOT involve clinical tasks such as bathing, mobility assistance, or administering medical care.

About the Unit:

The Transplant ICU is a 12-bed critical care unit (growing in size when the new Kamin Tower opens in January 2027). Most of our patients have received transplanted organs includingkidney, liver, pancreas, intestine, islet cell, or multi-visceral transplants. We also care for patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, surgical oncology patients undergoing complicated abdominal surgeries, and patients suffering from multi-system organ failure. The diversity of patients makes the TICU an exciting and stimulating atmosphere for learning and professional growth.

• High school diploma, or active enrollment in a high school/GED program, or one year of previous work experience in lieu of a diploma/GED
• Must demonstrate compassion, enthusiasm, and a strong desire to provide an exceptional experience for patients and families at all times
• Previous experience in healthcare or customer service is preferred, but not required
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

• Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
• Act 33 with renewal
• Act 34
• Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
