Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock is seeking a Patient Services Specialist I to support clinic patient flow with standard clerical tasks. Primary duties include registration, scheduling, and insurance authorization in line with procedures.

The role involves greeting patients, collecting insurance details, updating patient demographics in the EMR, and coordinating follow-up appointments and testing under close direction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a clinical setting preferred (2–3 years).

Responsibilities

• Greets patients professionally and courteously at the beginning and end of the visit.
• Requests insurance information and updates as necessary.
• Scans insurance and patient picture identification into the EMR.
• Correct patient's demographic information as necessary.
• Call patient to verify rescheduled appointments.
• Request any additional payments and schedule the next follow-up appointment and or testing.
