Job summary

Bright Light Medical Imaging in Wheaton, IL is seeking a Patient Relations Specialist to join our full-time team. You will greet patients, answer calls, assist with check-in forms, and maintain accurate records while processing payments in a HIPAA-compliant environment.

You will schedule clinical appointments via Medics Premier, coordinate referrals and authorizations, and collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent.
• Prior medical/office experience preferred.
• Data entry/word processing experience.
• Medical terminology knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients professionally in person and by phone.
• Screen and direct incoming calls; assist with check-in forms.
• Maintain patient records and process payments.
• Protect patient information per HIPAA rules.
• Schedule appointments using Medics Premier and confirm times.
• Coordinate with internal teams and notify technologists of arrivals.
• Understand insurance workflows for referrals, authorizations, co-pays.
• Obtain service authorizations and communicate financial clearance status.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Lift up to 15 lbs and alternate sitting/standing as needed.
