Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a front desk medical receptionist in Wilmington, NC. You will be the first point of contact for patients, process them in a friendly, professional manner, and ensure accurate demographics and insurance information at every visit.

You will schedule and reschedule appointments in the EHR, check in/out patients for appointments, lab work or studies, and verify insurance and pre-authorization numbers when required, while maintaining strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Two years of related medical clerical experience or a completed medical secretarial program may substitute for equivalent experience
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Preference: Knowledge of HIPAA and other compliance requirements

Responsibilities

• First point of contact for patients at the clinic
• Process patients in a friendly, professional manner
• Ensure all patient demographic and insurance information is accurate and updated each visit
• Schedule and re-schedule appointments in EHR
• Check in/out patients for appointments, lab work, or studies
• Verify insurance and obtain pre-authorization numbers when required
• Maintain confidentiality of patients and their medical information
• Demonstrate human relations and effective communications skills
