The successful candidate will perform check-in/out, verify referrals, and maintain the electronic health record to ensure timely provider access and smooth daily operations.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• 1 year or more of related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors on arrival per protocol.
• Assist patients with check-in and check-out.
• Answer calls and direct per practice protocol.
• Document messages in the phone encounter and route appropriately.
• Enter hospital charges into the electronic billing system accurately.
• Verify patient referral eligibility with payer before initiating referral.
• Document eligibility in the EHR per protocol.
• Schedule appointments per protocol and use provider templates.
• Document coverage of services before patient sees a provider.
• Monitor accounts and patient work queues weekly for corrections.
• Ensure the EHR is complete and ready for provider use.
• Handle incoming mail and deliveries per protocol.
• Maintain safety standards and respiratory fit testing requirements.
