Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking a part-time Patient Experience representative to provide administrative support to the General Medicine unit. You will coordinate services to patients and families and contribute to continuous process improvement while delivering compassionate customer service.

Responsibilities include patient encounter management, scheduling, authorizations, admissions/discharges, and routine clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• High school education required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Prior customer service or administrative experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speaking with empathy.
• Ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies.

• Collaborate with referring providers and practices.
• Obtain required authorizations to compile patient and staff schedules.
• Schedule patients and support patient encounters.
• Record and forward messages; triage calls for urgent information or services.
• Process admissions/discharges.
• Provide routine clerical support as needed.

Position summary

As a part time Patient Experience representative, you will work to provide administrative support to the General medicine unit. You will work to ensure the best possible patient experience by effectively coordinating services to patients and families. You will demonstrate interest in and ability to departmental and organizational initiatives & projects with a focus on continuous process improvement. You will perform various administrative functions requiring basic knowledge of programs and services. You will provide positive and effective customer service that supports departmental and hospital operations.

Schedule: every other sat/sun 3-11pm

Key responsibilities

• Patient Encounter Management:
  • Providing positive and effective customer service that supports unit operations
  • Collaborating with referring providers and practices
  • Obtaining required authorizations to compile patient and staff schedules
  • Scheduling patients and supporting patients encounter

Administrative

• Recording and forwarding messages, triaging calls for urgent information or services, initiating call for emergency services
• Processing admissions/discharges
• Providing routine clerical support as needed

Minimum qualifications

Education:

• A high school level of education, bachelor's degree preferred

Experience:

• Prior customer service or administrative experience preferred
• The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations
• The ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies

Shift

part time: other sat/sun 3-11pm

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
