Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Secretarial training preferred; experience may substitute.
• Minimum of five years secretarial experience desirable.
• Ability to type at least 60 words per minute.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff, the public, patients, and medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients professionally and answer questions.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and provide needed information.
• Answer and transfer calls or send telephone encounters.
• Inform eligible patients about sliding fee scale and required documents.
• Collect patient fees and handle registration: background, demographics, check-in/out.
• Maintain lobby appearance and direct patient flow to appropriate areas.
• Confirm future appointments and perform daily close-out, balancing and deposits.
