Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Patient Coordinator for our Jacksonville facilities to ensure a positive patient experience through registration, scheduling, and front-desk support. You will handle patient interactions, documentation, and insurance verification in multiple systems.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, accuracy in records, and teamwork across departments to support efficient imaging and treatment processes. This is a full-time on-site position at our Jacksonville sites.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• CPR certification may be required for mobile setting; valid driver's license may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Register patients in various systems and verify insurance information.
• Answer all calls professionally and courteously.
• Collect patient responsibility payments when applicable.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization when needed.
• Provide patient with preliminary and post-procedure instructions.
• Keep work area clean and well-organized and ensure accurate patient records.
