Job summary

Rural Health Group, Inc. is seeking a Patient Liaison to warmly welcome patients at the Roanoke Rapids location and support front desk operations. You will assist with registration, coordinate patient care needs, and maintain a welcoming lobby environment to ensure timely appointments.

This role also serves as back-up Patient Account Specialist, handling insurance verification, payments, and data entry in the practice management system. Some travel may be required; schedule is Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm.

Qualifications

• Outpatient physician office experience strongly preferred.
• Associate/Bachelor's Degree in related field strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication, telephone and organizational skills.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic understanding of medical terms and abbreviations.
• Ability to multi-task in a potentially stressful environment.
• Ability to quickly learn to use eClinicalWorks electronic health record system.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and direct patients using courtesy, presentation, communication and safety for swift check-in.
• Assist with patient registration to avoid delays in arrival time.
• Coordinate resolution of patient care needs and concerns; reduce anxieties and maintain channels of communication among patients, families, staff, and physicians.
• Ensure lobby and front desk are clean, neat, and welcoming; manage lobby to keep patients seen on time.
• Back-up Patient Account Specialist duties: verify insurance, collect payments, reconcile cash, enter data into system, answer calls.
