Job summary

Rural Health Group, Inc. is seeking a Patient Liaison to warmly welcome patients at the Roanoke Rapids location and support front desk operations. You will assist with registration, coordinate patient care needs, and maintain a welcoming lobby environment to ensure timely appointments.

This role also serves as back-up Patient Account Specialist, handling insurance verification, payments, and data entry in the practice management system. Some travel may be required; schedule is Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm.

Qualifications

  • Outpatient physician office experience strongly preferred.
  • Associate/Bachelor's Degree in related field strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, telephone and organizational skills.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic understanding of medical terms and abbreviations.
  • Ability to multi-task in a potentially stressful environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn to use eClinicalWorks electronic health record system.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and direct patients using courtesy, presentation, communication and safety for swift check-in.
  • Assist with patient registration to avoid delays in arrival time.
  • Coordinate resolution of patient care needs and concerns; reduce anxieties and maintain channels of communication among patients, families, staff, and physicians.
  • Ensure lobby and front desk are clean, neat, and welcoming; manage lobby to keep patients seen on time.
  • Back-up Patient Account Specialist duties: verify insurance, collect payments, reconcile cash, enter data into system, answer calls.

Patient Liaison - RHG at Halifax Medical Specialist

ThePatient Liaisonenthusiastically greets and directspatients using courtesy, presentation, communication and safety to receivepatients, families andvisitors into the office. This individual will assist with the registration of incoming patients in a prompt manner to avoid delays in arrival time and to ensure a swift check-in process.

This individual will assist and coordinate resolution of patient care needs and concerns. They strive to reduce patient and visitor anxieties and maintain channels of communication between the patient, family, staff, and physicians, which ultimately personalizes and enhances the relationship between Rural Health Group and its patients.

They will assist in assuring that the lobby and front deskarea is always clean, neat, orderly,and welcoming.They will manage the lobby to ensure that patients are being seen for their appointments in a timely manner. All duties and responsibilities will be performed in a manner consistent with Rural Health Group's mission, values, guiding principles, and standards.

This full-time position will serve primarily at our RHG Family Practice medical office in Roanoke Rapids.

This position will also serve as a back-up Patient Account Specialist (front desk), with responsibilities to include: verify insurance, collect patient payments and reconcile cash collections, enter patient data into electronic practice management system, answer incoming calls, etc. Some travel may be required. The schedule will be primarily Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Outpatient physician office experience strongly preferred
  • Associate/Bachelor's Degree in related field isstrongly preferred
  • Excellent communication, telephone andorganizational skills
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must have basic understanding of medical terms and abbreviations
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a potentially stressful environment
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding when carrying out detailed written or oral instructions
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive, effective, professional relationships with patients, providers, coworkers, and superiors
  • Possess knowledge of modern office equipment, Microsoft Office software programs, medical practice management systems (scheduling, registration and charge entry), and basic computer skills (including the ability to type)
  • Must be able to quickly learn to use eClinicalWorks electronic healthrecord system
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required - applicants who may serve in a translating capacity will be required to take a language assessment
