Job summary

Rural Health Group seeks a Full Time Patient Account Specialist at Roanoke Rapids Family Practice. The role is the first point of contact, handling check-in, registration and revenue tasks including insurance verification and collecting patient portions.

Qualifications

• Experience in outpatient medical office setting required.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic understanding of medical terms and abbreviations.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) is a plus.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors in a friendly, professional manner.
• Answers telephone inquiries promptly and courteously.
• Provides information on Rural Health Group’s programs, policies, and procedures.
• Collects and updates patient demographic information in the EMR system.
• Completes the registration process for incoming patients.
• Verifies insurance coverage and collects patient portions.
