Job summary

Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC) is seeking an Engagement Specialist to support school-based therapy patients and families by ensuring timely engagement and excellent patient experience.

The role provides administrative support to school-based therapists, maintains registration paperwork, verifies guardianship, and helps manage patient accounts while coordinating with schools and referral sources to improve service delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years relevant experience or equivalent combination.
• Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with Outlook/Teams/SharePoint.
• Experience in medical office/clinical settings and with patient registration processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process referrals for school-based therapy services and initial outreach to patients/guardians.
• Verify demographics, insurance, and guardianship; prepare registration paperwork.
• Coordinate with schools and referral sources; schedule and track appointments.
