Job summary

Mountain Area Health Education Center in Asheville is seeking an Engagement Specialist to support school-based therapy patients and families, ensuring timely engagement in services and an excellent patient experience. You will provide administrative support to school-based therapists, verify guardianship, enrollment paperwork, and manage patient charts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with two years of relevant experience preferred in medical/clinical settings.
• Experience in medical office environments and familiarity with school-based therapy is advantageous.
• Spanish language skills preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Process referrals for school-based therapy services and assist with initial outreach and registration.
• Verify demographic, insurance, and guardianship information; maintain compliant patient records.
• Coordinate with schools and referral sources, provide updates on referrals, and schedule as needed.
• Schedule interpreting services and monitor therapist schedules; manage electronic health record inbox and follow-ups.
• Answer calls and manage communications; support in patient outreach to collect demographics.
