Job summary

Northside Hospital Inc. is seeking a patient grievance advocate to manage complaints from patients, families and visitors with empathy and professionalism.

You will serve as the first contact in the grievance process, offering resolution options and coordinating referrals to meet patient needs. The role involves direct interaction with patients of all ages, ensuring courteous communication, providing emotional support, and identifying opportunities to improve processes for higher patient

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent education (GED) or post-secondary education
• Two (2) years of experience in advocacy, public relations, customer service, or in a medical setting
• Ability to type a minimum of 30 words per minute
• Prefer degrees in Social Science, Business Administration, Health Administration, Education or related field
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams) and EHRs
• Bilingual (Spanish preferred) and strong communication skills

Responsibilities

• Processes complaints and concerns from patients, families, and visitors
• Acts as the initial representative during the grievance process and identifies resolution options
• Provides intervention with staff/patient/family conflict and referrals
• Suggests process improvements to enhance patient satisfaction
• Maintains direct contact with patients to provide emotional support and assistance
• Communicates courteously to uphold public relations
