Job summary

Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists, PC is seeking a friendly Patient Service Representative for our front desk. You will greet patients, check them in, verify appointments and help set a positive tone from the moment they arrive.

Responsibilities include handling check-in/check-out, scheduling follow-ups, collecting co-pays, performing new patient intake, and supporting billing and medical records activities in a fast-paced orthopedic office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years in a customer service role; medical office receptionist preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Experience with an EMR/PM system.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and answer phone.
• Check-in patients and verify appointment and billing information.
• Schedule appointments.
• Collect co-pays and co-insurance.
• New patient intake and registration.
• Review paperwork for completeness.
• Input patient demographic information in computer system.
• Review benefits with patient.
• Check-out patients and schedule follow-up appointments.
• Assist CBO and with medical records per policy.
• Monitor Plans of Care for certification.
• Log discharged patients in the EMR.
