Forefront Dermatology in Suffolk, VA is seeking a Patient Service Representative to join our fast-paced clinic environment. You will handle patient check-in, verify insurance, manage a multi-line phone system, and support front-desk operations.

This full-time role covers clinic hours on Fridays and Saturdays, with benefits including health insurance, a Health Savings Account, PTO, and company-paid life and disability coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1+ years of recent medical office experience preferred.
• Proficient in basic computer functions.
• Ability to learn new software quickly.
• Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills.
• Type at least 40 wpm is preferred.
• Attention to detail.
• Able to multi-task and work well in a team.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.

Responsibilities

• Performs opening and closing clinic duties.
• Greets patients, checks in for appointments and verifies insurance.
• Scans documents into electronic health record.
• Maintains tidiness of waiting area and reception counter throughout the day.
• Checks schedules for added, canceled and no-show appointments.
• Schedules follow up appointments as needed.
• Responds to designated tasks in the electronic health record.
• Orders clinic office supplies.
• Sells and tracks cosmetic products.
• Distributes mail.
• Prepares for next day scheduled appointments.
