Job summary

Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest is seeking a Front Office Representative for our health center in San Diego, CA. You will greet patients, manage the wait area, and handle check-in, registration in the EHR, and enrollment in funding programs.

In this role, you will verify insurance, explain patient financial responsibilities, and provide financial counseling while coordinating with the back office on walk-in demand and wait times to ensure a smooth patient experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of customer service experience
• Or 1+ years of admitting/registration experience
• Or 1+ years of PPPSW healthcare experience

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage waiting room to ensure a positive patient experience.
• Register patients into the EHR and enroll them in available funding programs.
• Educate patients on financial responsibilities and available funding sources.
• Verifiy insurance eligibility, benefits, and patient share of cost with third-party and governmental payers.
• Handle time-of-service payments, billing processes, and charge reconciliation.
• Coordinate with back office regarding walk-in demand and wait times.
