Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a Medical Receptionist to welcome patients, verify insurance, schedule visits, and support daily office operations. You will be the first friendly face patients see, helping ensure a smooth check-in and billing process.

We seek a courteous, detail-oriented team player with a High School diploma or GED and 1–2 years in medical or customer-service settings. Day shifts, full-time, on-site in Southeast Michigan, with day-one benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• 1–2 years experience in medical, doctor’s office, or customer service preferred.
• Experience handling insurance verification and scheduling processes preferred.
• Strong communication and empathy for patients are essential.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism and compassion.
• Check patients in and verify registration and insurance information.
• Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments.
• Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and route messages appropriately.
• Collect payments and support accurate billing processes.
• Assist with patient communications, paperwork, and MyChart support.
• Maintain patient records and support day-to-day office operations.
• Partner with providers and clinical staff to ensure a smooth patient experience.
• Oversees daily work queues.
• Serves as Collections Advocate.
• Handles moderate billing issues with patients.
