Baystate Health is seeking a Patient Service Representative to join the Adult Outpatient Behavioral Health team in Springfield, MA. The role involves front-dine patient contact, registration, insurance verification, and co-pay collection within a busy behavioral health setting.

Strong customer service skills are required to interact with patients, families, and the care team. The position supports care delivery across multiple Baystate Health locations in western Massachusetts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 6-18 months experience preferred (PSR I or II) or 3 years preferred (PSR III).

Responsabilités

• Managing the Patient Experience: Greet patients, gather/verify demographics, check for necessary referrals/pre-authorizations.
• Insurance Verification: Request proof of insurance, verify coverage using automated systems.
• Payments: Request, accept, and document co-payments or outstanding account balances.
• Appointments & Schedules: Schedule new/follow-up appointments following practice guidelines.
• Check-out: Review patient information at checkout, schedule future visits, provide referrals.
• Communication: Answer/route calls, manage/resolve administrative inbox messages, print orders, letters, or short-form medical records in compliance with HIPAA.
