Job summary

Cooper Norcross Health is seeking a patient access specialist at Cooper University Hospital to ensure quality scheduling, friendly phone etiquette, and smooth front-desk operations in support of patient care.

You will greet and register patients, collect copays, verify demographics and insurance, and guide families using AIDET while coordinating discharge navigation.

Flexibility to work across ambulatory offices and adapt to patient volumes is required as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Proficient with computer systems and patient databases.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Some knowledge of medical insurances.

Responsibilities

• Register and greet patients, update demographics and insurance information.
• Assist with scheduling and appointment follow-ups across the healthcare continuum.
• Collect co-pays and reconcile cash drawer.
• Use kiosks/tablets to assist patients upon arrival.
• Provide general information and act as non-clinical navigator during discharge.
• Maintain patient rights and uphold mission/values; comply with regulatory standards.
• Handle outreach for MyChart messages and confirmations.
• May work at other ambulatory offices as volume requires.
