Job summary

Effingham Health System is seeking a Guest Service Ambassador to provide excellent customer service and a welcoming first impression for patients, visitors, and staff. You will support check-in, answer questions, and help with directions and comfort needs while upholding visitor policies and compliance standards.

Responsibilities include timely information updates, liaising with nurses, and cross-training to back-up Customer Service roles.

Qualifications

• Education level equivalent to completion of high school required; college courses in business/administration are a plus.
• Excellent customer service, strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic office, telephone, and entry-level computer skills are required.
• 2 years of healthcare experience is preferred.
• Strong writing skills and clear, coherent communication are required.
• Email etiquette and compassionate communication are important.

Responsibilities

• Acts as an EHS Hospital Ambassador to all persons entering the building.
• Initiates patient check-in and coordinates smooth handoff to registration.
• Monitors and provides updated information to patients, families, and visitors in waiting areas.
• Rounds on patients and waiting room to address experience and update waiting times.
• Communicates questions, complaints, and concerns to staff; explains policies and procedures.
• Directs/escorts patients to appropriate areas; assists with small comfort needs when appropriate.
• Cross trains with Customer Service Representative to serve as back-up.
• Participates in continuing education regarding internal training and compliance.
