Job summary

OhioHealth in Columbus seeks a Service Excellence Ambassador to deliver exceptional customer service to patients, families, visitors and OhioHealth physicians and associates. You will gather and relay information about patient location, condition, and progress while protecting confidentiality and supporting staff.

You will advocate for patients, resolve concerns, escalate delays, greet and guide visitors, assist with wheelchairs, answer calls, and help maintain welcoming lobbies and information

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Social Sciences or health-related field.
• Equivalent experience may be considered.
• Knowledge of conflict resolution, interpersonal communication, and diversity training.
• Minimum two years of consumer advocacy or service experience.

Responsibilities

• Give and collect information to visitors/patients about location, condition and progress while maintaining confidentiality.
• Communicate between patient, family and hospital staff.
• Act as an advocate by expediting admission and addressing delays.
• Resolve problems and escalate when necessary.
• Respond to special needs and ensure needs are met.
• Greet, direct and escort visitors/patients; assist with wheelchairs as needed.
• Answer multi-line phone and transfer callers to the appropriate location.
• Oversee information desks and lobby areas, including cleanliness and order.
