Job summary

UnityPoint Health seeks a Patient Experience Specialist to welcome patients and visitors, assist with paperwork, and guide them to the right departments. You will handle general inquiries, answer calls, and escalate urgent issues to experience specialist leads, while maintaining accurate EMR records and collecting patient feedback.

You will participate in training and ensure confidentiality and compliance with UPH standards, contributing to a seamless patient experience across departments.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: Previous customer service experience in hospital or healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Extends a professional welcome to all patients and visitors, providing information on services and procedures.
• Serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, assists with check-in and check-out, ensuring a smooth registration process.
• Guides patients to appropriate departments, clinics, or service areas.
• Keeps patients and families updated about wait times, physician availability, and delays.
• Assists patients in completing paperwork, including consent forms and insurance documentation.
• Addresses general patient inquiries and escalates complex or urgent matters.
